How To Fix The Problem Of Appreciation

The Problem
Without using deprivation to make people appreciate what they have, there has to be a way to help people stay balanced. People want to feel satisfaction, they want some comfort, and relief. Using deprivation to make people appreciate what they have is sadistic.
Solutions
Eat the same sandwich everyday for lunch, and after a few years you loose the appreciation for the flavor the sandwich has. Really you have to be balanced in your approach to living. Balance is key. Variety really matters, and having freedom to choose, and live. You might be a masochist and eat that same kind of sandwich for five years, but eventually you will get tired of it.
What then? What do you do? By then, you're so discontent with life, that everything feels like worthless junk. Then your problems have spiraled out of control. You have to restore balance. If you're tired of the same sandwich everyday for lunch, you can deprive yourself of that kind of sandwich, and maybe eat something else with a little more, or less flavor. That doesn’t mean you stop eating food, it just means you change what you eat. See the point?
How Much Is Enough
Have too little, and your options for variety are in dire need. This is a problem, because then life becomes a living death. It matters that you have balance in life. There has to be the options to have variety, and the freedom to choose what to pick from. Things come and go in and out of fashion, based upon what people get tired of seeing, or using. If you don’t have enough, it feels oppressive. Oppression is the opposite of having appreciation. Those two very ideas are in conflict with each other. Right?
You have to be balanced in life. You have to have the freedom to choose, and have enough options to choose from. Variety is the spice of life. Without it, life becomes a living death, and you only will want to die. It matters.
What Led To This
This article is the result of thinking about how to make people appreciate what they have. At first I went with the idea of deprivation and denying people things, then when they return to their life, they would have appreciation for what they have. However, after consideration; doing that shit to people would cause them to go mad. It would be considered cruelty. It is better to allow people the freedom of variety, and the freedom to choose from some good options.
Deprivation hurts people. Hurt people hurt people. It is better to be balanced in what you expect, and have enough variety. Some things you want to stay the same, and some things you want to be able to change. People don’t always live in the same house for fifty years, because they loose appreciation for the house from being home all the damn time. So they move to another house they appreciate more. Then after they have lived there long enough, they move again. But what if they just went out more, or had a second home to live in? Then when they come back home, they would appreciate what they have all the more so. You don’t have to deprive people of a home, for them to appreciate what they have, you just have to provide enough variety that they feel satisfaction with what they have.
This matters an awful lot. You deprive someone of friends, and family, and any kind of social connection, it hurts them a great deal. Too many people have these problems, with no way to deal with them. Variety matters. People need to be able to socialize, and have people in their lives. People today have become so closed minded, and judgmental, there is no pleasing anyone.
Society is in for some nasty problems if these problems are not addressed. People are going to feel oppressed, and persecuted, and they will rebel from the norms. Because they are fed up with the same sandwich everyday for lunch. Do you understand the problem? Variety matters, to appreciate what you have, you don’t have to deprive people of having, you have to provide the options to give them some variety. Balance matters a whole lot. Some things you want to stay the same, some things have to change sometimes. Balance is vital.
Oppression is the opposite of appreciation. When people feel oppressed, they do not have an appreciation for what they do have. These problems, need to be carefully considered, and the equation MUST be better balanced. There will be problems if not solved. Too many people today, feel oppressed, and their appreciation is going out the door. Then you have nothing but real problems.
Conclusion
If you want people to appreciate what they have, don’t overly oppress them. There is no need to use deprivation to make people appreciate what they have, because there is plenty of variety. What we don’t have is the freedom to make use of the all the variety. We want life to get better for everyone, and really why shouldn’t everyone have the ability to express themselves, and contribute to the great life everyone could have? We want to make life better, so let's talk about it.
