Want to be inspired

Want to be inspired? Do This!
Manage your expectations. . .

“Truth is: I admire people who live their best.”
If you want to be really inspired, and do your best work. There are some steps that one must take.
- Manage your expectations
- Spend some time, in meditation
- Act accordingly
By managing your expectations (free), you can avoid disappointment. Thus, being inspired; is more likely. When you feel discouraged, it is because your expectations are not matching the reality of the situation. And that is really very discouraging. To really be inspired, you have to control your expectations in ways that leave room for reality.
The higher your expectations, the greater chances of discouragement you will likely face. And when failure really does hit, then the reality of the situation will set in, and it will be difficult to recover from those kinds of problems.

You want to be inspired?
Don’t tell people, show people. That is a big difference. Want to inspire others, don’t nag them to death, show them what can be done. Ideas can morph, and shape and change over time. What one person finds to be dull, may lead someone else to do something that is really amazing.
Boredom
Sometimes, you have to be bored. Life isn’t all perfect. Life is seldom perfect, it is messy, and sometimes difficult. By managing your expectations, and not expecting perfection, then you can feel more inspiration, and avoid greater setbacks.
By allowing yourself time to meditate, and ponder life, and existence; i.e. being bored, will allow you to explore your creative sides in ways that few ever dream of doing.
Let Go Of Perfectionism
Trying to do something perfectly the first time ever trying it, will often lead to disappointment. Sometimes, you have to work at something for many long hours, before you can learn to master the abilities needed to do something.
By taking actions now, doing small things and working up to bigger projects, you can start the momentum needed to accomplish your goals. Chip away at those projects, that means sometimes, working a little bit each day on them, or even taking longer breaks from them; and working on something else, until your ready to tackle them.
Feel free to make some mistakes sometimes. In the Japanese culture there is the term used: Wabi-Sabi (Wikipedia), you should look it up, and understand some of what its talking about. Sometimes in the imperfection, there is some beauty.
To be your best
If you avoid being discouraged, you will find it easier to take action, and do things that matter to you. If you find that you are discouraged, better manage your expectations to the alignment of the true reality of the situation.
Talk About Your Expectations
It helps, if you can talk about your expectations. And help yourself align with what reality really is. Set your expectations too high, and you are likely in for a big fall.
Talking about what you expect, and seeing if that is in line with what should be done, helps a lot. It really helps to have your attitude aligned with your priorities. And when you have proper expectations can be a good thing.
Don’t Expect Miracles from Others
Do have standards, but don’t set the bar so high that no one including yourself can live up to the hype. You have to be realistic about what you expect from others, and yourself.
Some Faults
Really I’ve been discouraged for a long time. I’ve suffered major setbacks in life; and yet, I still have impossibly high expectations for myself, and others. We want good results, and expect nothing less than great.
Truth be told, we want peace. Life has to be worthy of living, and good enough that we can live without hurting each other in the process. Sometimes, that means having to be kind, and being forgiving of others.
They say: “There is no excuse!” Really had expected a lot better. Seems I’m going to have to do some real work, to align my expectations with reality. Not really sure, what will be involved in that, if reality changes. A person has to be able to adapt to changes sometimes. And I expect myself to be able to do that.
