The Way Things Are

Everything looks very different now. Some of us, who were still here after it happened; have been cleaning up the messes. Learning how to operate a tow truck without a manual was a pain in the neck. Most of the cars that were in the streets, have been moved and are gone.

The parking lots of most of the commercial places, are still littered with cell phones, and credit cards; toys, and purses. Most of the people that died, were in their own beds. They had laid there, some going on, six months; too tired to move; and just up and died on everyone.

The streets are empty now, for the most part. There was some panic towards the end of those who had not died in their own beds. People got scared, and panicked. There was some confusion people had about the reasons why no one would communicate with each other. People had just stopped talking, or doing anything.

They couldn’t communicate, or do anything about it. No doubt when they died, they were throughly frustrated. Seems no one would help, or lift a finger to help. And, what is more, no one would listen. They only had very selective hearing. Some things registered with them perfectly. However, in the event you said something they didn’t understand, they didn’t know what to do about that.

Most of the world is pretty quiet now days. You can hear my music playing, from a few blocks away. That is about the only noise still being made. We had to figure out what to do with the bodies of all those people who died in their beds. Seems that was a messy problem.

They obviously became too stupid for their own good. The sun shines bright, here in June. Bad month, June. People never were really happy in the month of June. Seems to be a gloomy month. Well, there is some new light here. And with the people that were being problems, now gone; we can make some real progress. Seems the way things are, the people that were here, didn’t want to be real people anyways. They were too busy with watching the TV, or listening to fake people talk about the weather, to pay attention to the real problems.

Really it seemed no one really cared. And that was a problem. People that were fake, were just too stupid to lift a finger, to help someone else out. Pity, it would have been my death, had it not been for someone real in this world, that reached out to me, and after having kept them close; we were able to communicate, and talk about the problems. We kept each other going, and through the tough times, we cheered each other on.

Don’t sleep too long, don’t lay around doing nothing for very long. Get up, be active, and live your life, best you can. Take breaks, and get good and worked up about what your doing. Keep your head about yourself, and don’t use drugs, or booze.

The world has changed. Not all is lost, and there is some hope. Maybe the days will pick up, and life will be better for everyone. They didn’t know me, and at this point; much of the harm they have done, will be forgotten.

The remnants of a lost planet, still linger. Maybe once all the messes are cleaned up, there will be some real living that can take place here. We want to get back to real living, and better times in life.

Seems the hardships, were there to make us stronger. Some lessons learned, and maybe the same mistakes; won’t be made again. We always hope that the lessons are learned, and that the same mistakes aren’t repeated. Because let’s face it; that would be dumb.
