Fiction About A Different World

Fiction
The man sat motionless. Without expression, or signs of fatigue. He had been sitting for several hours, without letup. His disciple, was a young man, who had been alive for fifty years. He had been training with his master, for forty years.
The disciple sat still, and had his doubts if he would ever progress to becoming anything in his life.
“Do you believe, you are ready?” The master spoke to the disciple.
“How will I ever know?” the disciple who was known by the name Eddie said as he sat motionless.
“You are not as young as you once was.” the master said.
“I’ve studied for forty years, will I ever be ready” Eddie said quietly.
“Come here tomorrow, and we will test your skills. Then we will know if you have progressed as a being.” The master Alexander spoke.
The disciple excused himself, and went to prepare himself for what would come in the next twenty-four hours.
Once the disciple had left, and enough time had passed, Alexander rose from his seated position. He took the stairs to the hidden rooms, below the main meditation rooms.
After having descended to the lower rooms, the main door at the base of the stairs was shut. And, locked with a great wooden beam. Then Alexander took the room into his awareness, and went to the center of a circle on the floor. Above the circle on the floor, was a large metal opening the same size as the circle, suspended by four great pillars.
Alexander took his time, and moved himself in near perfect steps. Then he used his mental strength, and opened the portal to the other universe that he secretly lives in. His own personal universe, that is where he lives his wildest fantasies.
The Circle in the floor raised itself into the another dimension and Alexanders own personal universe. The whole process is rather complex, but needless to say; it’s out of this world.
Upon arrival from being moved between the two different universes, Alexander was greeted by a lovely looking woman. And without further ado walked through the garden of his home.
“See that the test is prepared for tomorrow, Eddie will be in for some real surprises come the time for his test.” Alexander said to the woman.
And without a word, the woman went to prepare the test for the next day.
Alexander went to change his robe; and after taking his time; picked a black uniform from the table that had been prepared.
Eddie in his brown robe, arrived early the next day. And when he took his place in the dojo the master was not present. He sat quietly and did not know what to do. An hour passed. Nothing happened.
Then the woman that greeted Alexander yesterday, in his garden arrived, and said to the disciple, “Follow me, the master has prepared something for you that you must see to believe.”
They went down the stairs, and after the wooden beam had been placed to block access to the lower room; the woman took the disciple to the center of the circle, and went to the pillar. She lifted a handle on the side of pillar, and manually started the portal.
Eddie was shocked. That was nothing compared for the surprises that he was in for. The only thing was, the universe he went to was not where the master kept his home. This was a training universe, with plenty of things to make the young Eddie doubt his existence.
“Master, what is this place?” Eddie said at his arrival through the portal. In half awe, and half disbelief at what he was seeing.
“Yesterday, you asked if you were ready. Today we will find out.” Alexander said as he handed a sword to the young disciple.
“Today you will run the gauntlet, beware there are twenty trained assassin ninjas who only have one goal; to kill you. Then return to this spot with your life intact.”
